For those of us who acknowledges that life is short. we also know that travel is what enriches us and our lives, As a result, we can’t help equating the number of countries visited, to these experiences. Collecting as many countries as possible is therefore one of the primary objective. The Principality of Andorra is one country anyone can collect easily when one visits Spain, especially Barcelona, where the nearest international airport is found. From Barcelona, one can then do a day trip to Andorra to add another country to their belt. There is no passport stamp though, nor any border checks.
One can definitely spend more time in Andorra by spending a night of two. However, the most economical way would be to do a day trip considering that the most economical accommodation option in Andorra would be difficult to secure due, compared to the options in Barcelona. Time is also a premium and spending more time in Andorra means having less time anywhere else. I visited Andorra on my 10th visit to Europe over a week which also includes various sights that I have yet to see in Spain and Portugal.
Budgetting
To further minimise budget, purchase of the bus tickets need to be months in advance when tickets are on promo. Google says one can get return bus tickets as low as EUR25. On the spot tickets in 2026, now cost EUR35 one way from Barcelona Sants Central Bus Station, so this is hardly going to be a budget trip as the cost of the bus itself is already more than USD80. Adding in a meal or two and any admissions will bring this cost further up.
