Travelling in most developed countries and societies doesn’t come cheap, and is usually expensive. As such, I had always thought that Japan is expensive until I took the plunge to discover budget meals, budget accommodation, and the many ways one can travel and live on a budget. The recent exchange rate for the Japanese Yen may also help in travel budgeting within Japan.

Most expensive would be the express trains. The most pricey and fastest of all, the Shinkansen, takes just about two and a half hours between the hearts of Tokyo and Osaka. While flying takes only half the time, the additional times to clear airport security and to get to the airport would result in almost double the time taken by train. There are also slower and more economical options like regional trains and buses. These expenses cut travel times and bring much convenience to travellers.
The other best thing about Japan is that it is not only safe, but really clean. The people are polite though be aware that even the best of people have moods. There are also too many travel articles on the web so here’s my take and two cents worth to help with budgeting and Japan Travel Ideas
