The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia now open to tourism, has much pending visits and discovery. The country is the 12th largest in the world. With a land area this huge, there must be something apart from the desert lands. A lot of archaeological excavation is still ongoing. At Hegra, there are new tombs and burial sites found last year, when the torrential rains come and wash their mud enclosures away. Also, there are new UNESCO world heritage sites. Two such sites are in the empty quarter, though they are not quite ready to receive visitors yet. Relatively close to the sites of the ancient Egyptian, Roman and Persian empires, much history in ancient scripts and languages, is awaiting decipher.

Now that Singapore Airlines will finally be flying to Riyadh, I can’t wait for the World Expo 2030 to happen. Furthermore, it may be best to plan the next winter holiday to Saudi Arabia when the desert weather is coolest. Besides, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will still be open and operating as usual. This is unlike many parts of the world which will be closed for Christmas and the New Year. This is the same case during Lunar New Year and so on. That said, the desert weather is still pretty hot and scorching during the day. Therefore, I recommend using sunblock and full hydration on a daily basis.
